Kenny Schwartz Biography
By Keith S. Kizer

Born September 26, 1966 in St. Louis Missouri, Kenneth R. Schwartz was born as a city slicker going to public school but like all future gearheads he loved to take stuff apart. Kenny says he didn’t always get things back together but loved the attempt. After high school, Kenny went to trade school and got a degree in Automotive Technology. Then he went off to college noting, “I didn’t have much of a plan.” After college Kenny joined the Army ROTC and became a 2nd lieutenant in the Army reserves in 1989. In 1991 he was called to active duty for Desert Storm and spent five months in Europe. After returning from Neitherlands he went to law school graduating in 1994.

Kenny’s drag racing started after high school on a 1970 Yamaha RD 350 on the street. He realized what a bad idea that was so he stepped up to a 1984 Kawasaki Gpz 550 that he raced locally at Gateway International Raceway and some IDBA races. Once he started going out of town to a few national events, he was hooked. With the money Kenny saved while he was off at Desert Storm, he built a small tire Super Comp bike and competed in both the IDBA and Prostar series. In 2000 Kenny built his current bike, a turbocharged Suzuki Top Gas bike, which is for sale by the way.

I personally got to know Kenny really well towards the end of the IDBA era. Kenny worked closely with Leigh Ann Minn at IDBA doing whatever he could to save the organization. Later it was Kenny who helped bring Prostar to his hometown for the PR Factory Store St. Louis Nationals at Gateway International track.

If you didn’t know who Kenny was before now, I’m sure you have seen the ad he did for Straightliner where he is dressed in his best courtroom formals standing between Larry McBride and Jimmy Brantley’s Top Fuel bikes along with their crews.

So if you need 2010 national event winning Top Gas ride or you need a good lawyer, send Kenny an email at kenneth@kennethrschwartz.com.
