Hello, my name is Brad Gott.
I am 42 years old, married with 3 children, an 18-year-old daughter and also 12 and 11 year old boys.
I live in Lafayette Indiana and work at Tate and Lyle South also in
Lafayette.
I started Drag racing in 1994 after giving up Motocross to ensure making
it to work on Monday.
I raced a 1982 Kawasaki GPZ 1100. That's when I discovered Schnitz Racing.
Through Schnitz I extended my bike with an after market swingarm, Installed accel coils and wires,
Mikuni Flat slides and countless jets to go with it. Goodyear slicks topped it off.
I Bracket raced at IRP and raced the AMA/Prostar Thunder Nationals 2 years
in Pro ET.
My best finish was making the Semi at an IRP race and Red lighting to my
friend Ricky Smith.
I sold my bike and was out of racing and settled as a spectator until
2005.
In the fall of 2004 I bought a brand new GSXR 750. In 2005 I went to TnT night in Morocco Indiana and I was hooked again.
I continued to race my friends at TnT nights thru 2007, but on a 2006 LE
Hayabusa and eventually my baby, a Red 2006 ZX14.
In 2008 I wanted to compete again.
After meeting Ryan while dynoing my bike, I dropped my et's from 9.47 in
2007 to a 9.17
my first time to the track in 2008. In July I obtained my NHRA competition license and started to bracket
race in Indy.
The ZX14 is a Very consistent motorcycle. In August I won my 1st Vance
and Hines SuperPro motorcycle race. I couldn't have planned it better, having my father, wife and my brother
there to watch.
In 2009 I am going to continue to race the Vance and Hines SuperPro
motorcycle class, while
also competing in a new class at ORP sponsored by Del Flores for street
bikes. In both classes
I am competing for points and am trying for a great finish at the end of
the season. I also am planning to race AMA Drag bike event in Indy and possibly more
as work schedules allow.
With the help of Ryan, for all of his advice, and Schnitz Racing I have
been able to drop my et’s
to consistent 9.0’s my best is 9.003 while still being able to ride my
bike to work and take rides with my family.
